The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 17th Tank Battalion on 14 August 1923. It was reassigned for the 2d Tank Regiment on 11 July 1930. It was reassigned for the 67th Infantry (Medium Tanks) on 16 November 1932. The insignia was redesignated for the 67th Armored Regiment on 6 April 1942. It was redesignated for the 67th Medium Tank Battalion on 8 January 1951. The insignia was redesignated for the 67th Armor Regiment on 4 November 1958.
