The centre piece of this unusual table lamp is an Asian archaic bronze vessel of tapered cylindrical form, possibly a Buddhist scroll holder or a candle base perhaps? Decorated with raised relief female deity figure, probably Kannon-sama image, this bygone treasure measures 31 cm high x 8 cm base diameter and weighs a substantial 3Kg. Age unknown, extensive green malachite colour patination, could this be pre Qing dynasty?. The vessel has been sympathetically mounted to a carved wooden stand in such manner that it can be dissembled into its component parts (without damage to the bronze) should the buyer wish to appreciate its original service.
