The original portion of the lamp is an antique oil lamp. The lamp is English, and it is marked by the maker: Wright Butler (see photos). The lamp is made of hand painted art pottery with brass and metal mounts and the original burner assembly. The lamp is from the English Aesthetic Movement period. The lamp has a hand painted decoration of a nature theme including flowers, leaves, a butterfly and an insect bug (see photos). The lamp has been converted from an oil lamp to an electric lamp. The electric lamp measures in total about 22.5 inches high. The original oil lamp portion of the lamp measures about 13.25 inches high to the top of the burner portion, and it is about 6.9 inches wide across the base. The metal portions have some tarnish, the pottery portion has some crazing, and it has some wear (see photos). The painting has minimal wear (see photos and / or written description for the condition of this item). A nice large landscape oil painting for your collection.
