Stunningly large Victorian sash pin, thus called because it is heavy and has a thick sturdy pin for holding folds in dresses or a sash on the bodice. This one is unique in that the clear stone will reflect whatever color is being worn and frame it in a gold plated floral etched frame. It weighs a whopping 40 grams and is in excellent condition for age- glass isn't chipped or cracked but has numerous scratches for over 100 years of use. There is one prong missing from the prong setting all around the stone. It measures 1 3/4" wide by 1 3/8" tall. Its a honey of a find, so don't hesitate if you've been looking for this all your life! This type of jewelry always makes me think of movies like ?The Titanic?, ? Downton Abbey? and other Victorian and Edwardian productions.
