Antique RARE Stieff STERLING floral REPOUSSE SERVING SPOON The term REPOUSSE refers to the old European silversmith process of embossing a pattern by hammering from the back. This process dates from the early 19th century. This estate piece was acquired in the 1960?s by an avid collector/dealer. It has an elegant chrysanthemum/rose pattern. There is a simple 1920?s old style single ?W? engraved on the back. It is in excellent condition for any age. It bears the Sterling Stieff Hallmark within a rectangular recessed box on the reverse. It weighs 4 ounces / 114 grams and at 92.5 / sterling has a scrap value in today's spot of at least $75.00. It?s size affords it a utilitarian value of being used as: 1.
