It ORIGINATES FROM FRANCE and is SIGNED VERNON and stamped 18k. The pendant displays a relief of the PRAYING VIRGIN MARY / MADONNA / BLESSED MARY / MOTHER OF GOD / MARIA who has been hand carved in a bone colored material, please inquire. MADONNA has a RADIATING HALO and along the upper edge of the medallion are the words ?JE SUIS L? IMMACULEE CONCEPTION?, which is French for ?I AM THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION?. These words are very very faint and not easy to see unless you see the piece in the right light or with magnification. I had a difficult time in capturing the words in a photo. The pendant is set with 1 ROSE CUT DIAMOND that weighs approx. .01 ct. The medallion is framed with a layer of WHITE ENAMEL and then an outer frame of 43 NATURAL PEARLS. There is a small area at the bottom where the enamel is missing, but it more noticeable in my greatly magnified photos. The pendant measures 1-1/8? long, not including the top rings, by 1? at the widest point. The back is engraved with 3 initials that I think are ROD and dated 10.5.14 (May 10, 1914).
