Item description

Antique Fraget N Plaque Sabbath Candlesticks 19th Century Judaica, a Pair Incredible pair of circa 19th century Sabbath Russo-Polish candlesticks. They are each marked with the inscription Fraget N Plaque (translated means: Fraget silver plate on Alpacca) placed in an oval and on one side is what I believe to be the metalsmith?s mark and the other side the double eagle Russian coat of arms along with the number 4214. Each domed circular base and fluted column stem is raised on three fruit decorated feet and topped with a flared cup with crimped serpentine rim all decorated with repousse floral and berry motif. Each measures 4 3/8" square and 11 1/4" tall.
