Item description

Beautiful antique glass oval platter. It was made in Pittsburgh, PA, U.S.A., by McKee Bros. in their WHEAT pattern. A large wheat sheaf is in the center, with smaller ones on the handles. The words GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD appear in raised stippled letters around the rim. The Wheat pattern was introduced in 1873. The plate measures 12 inches (30.5cm) long and 10 inches (25.4cm) wide The sides are high and curved; the platter stands 2 inches (5.1cm) at the handles. It is quite thick and heavy.
