We are located in Southwest Florida. ______________________ DESCRIPTION: This is a nice large antique decorative Asian art hand carved wood folding privacy screen. The item is made of hand carved wood with bird decorations made of pieces of carved cow bone and mother-of-pearl shell (see photos). The interior two panels feature birds that look to be hawks, falcons or eagles of some sort (see photos and determine the birds shown). The exterior panels are lacquered and have some attached carved elements (see photos). The item is from a fine estate (see photos). The screen originally would have had wooden panel inserts for the top, which are no longer present (see photos). The screen is not marked by a maker or artist. The screen is Asian, and it looks to be Japanese to me. The screen is sold in as is as found estate condition. The upper wood inserts are missing. The decoration has many obvious losses to the decorative elements. The screen has losses, scratches, scuffs, and other obvious signs of wear. This is a great screen in need of restoration (see photos and decide the maker, artist, or origin). The item opened measures in total about inches high, and it is about inches wide.
