Item description

I am pleased to offer this fabulous antique Chinese export Amorial leaf dish with very detailed hand painted decoration and a set of coat of arms that represents British East India Company. This piece maybe part of a larger set - I unfortunately can not remember the origin where I bought this. Decades ago I was a Chinese export porcelain enthusiast, and this was one of the pieces that I have dragged out of the attic. It has an orange peel finish that I believe it is made around 1800s. It also has a four letter red Qian Long Stamp that dates this to the late 18th century - though the stamp looked added later. The stamp does make this piece appear to be a later made - however the age signs on this piece showing it has been around at least for decades. The leaf dish is hand painted with a crested coat-of-arms and the motto Auspicio Regis et Senatus Angliae (Governed by the King and Parliament of England), flanked by lions holding a crest. There are gold and red fleur-de-lis pattern around the base and b geometric black and iron-red foliate band around the rim. In very good condition I see no damages to the porcelain, but worn on enamel and scratches at the base for being around for over 200 years. Note East India company was resolved in 1874 - so we know the range of this piece is from late 1700s to mid 1800s. The dish is 7 3/4 X 5 3/4 inches. Historical collectibles that will add elegance to your home.
