Item description

Antique Asian Chinese Song Dynasty Style Porcelain Stoneware Crackle Glaze Three Handle Ritual Wine Pouring Vessel Pitcher. Measures 4 1/2” Tall, 3 3/4” Wide. Excellent condition for age no cracks but there is wear to the crackle glaze in certain spots and wear around the base. Please view all pictures as they are part of the description. Same or next business day USPS shipping. These short-necked, spouted vessels with open mouths were used to serve hot wine and later in the making of tea which had become a popular beverage by the Song Dynasty. Thus, these ancient Chinese ewers were used not only for steeping both ritual wine and tea, but also as pitchers for dispersing hot water into individual tea bowls where it was whisked with dried powdered tea leaves.
