The troupe have been primetime fixtures at Ye Olde Times Renaissance Faire for a number of years but are in grave danger of losing their slot to a pretentious group of classically trained Shakespeareans. In the midst of the crisis the troupe take on two new members, Will (Owen Benjamin), a student who is sent to work at the fair as a punishment by his professor (Cedric the Entertainer), and Kate (Ricci), who has left a well-paid job as a banker to try her hand at something different. The pair are initially assigned fairly menial roles by the troupe, but as they bond together and prove their worth Will and Kate gradually come to the fore.
