Vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the classic and important World War I drama, ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT, released in 1930 by Universal Pictures and directed by Lewis Milestone. Based upon the famous novel by Erich Maria Remarque, this gripping and well-crafted early sound drama tells the story of a young German soldier (Lew Ayres) who faces the profound disillusionment during the soul-destroying horrors of World War I. The cast includes Lew Ayres, Louis Wolheim, John Wray, Arnold Lucy, Ben Alexander, Scott Kolk, Owen Davis Jr., Walter Rogers, William Bakewell, Russell Gleason, Richard Alexander, Harold Goodwin, Slim Summerville, G. Pat Collins, Beryl Mercer. This lobby card was printed for the film's 1950 US theatrical re-release by Realart. As indicated in the center of the bottom border, this is card #6 from the set of 8 cards. The image features an interior scene inside of a tavern as a drunken Tjaden (Slim Summerville) wants to hit fellow inebriate Kat (Louis Wolheim) over the head with a wine bottle as the other guys watch. It is unrestored in fine+ condition with one pinhole in or near each corner; random signs of light wear along the right half of the top border and some small smudges in the lower half of the right border. The rich color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading. All Quiet on the Western Front went on to win the coveted "Best Picture" Academy Award, among others.
