Item description

Up for sale are rocks covered in acorn barnacles (barnacles without stalks), found off the coast of New Hampshire. Barnacles are crustaceans, related to lobsters and crabs. Adult barnacles are encrusters and will attach themselves to any substrate and once cemented they are sessile, that is, they stay in one place throughout their lives and use their feathery legs to capture plankton. These barnacle rocks are great reminder of the beauty of the coast and can be used as decorative pieces, paperweights, or would be great for the nature collectors. *Please remember that these are objects from nature, no two will be identical. Pictures are for illustration purposes only.
