Item description

From an Italian master silversmith Luigi Signorini, comes this miniature upright bass in 800 silver on a rose quartz base. When we mean miniature, understand the rose quartz base is 1.75 inches long and 1.25 inches wide. Base is just under 1/2 inch thick. The bass (as opposed to base) is 2 inches long and props up in a small hole and can move 360 degrees inside the base. See photos. In the corner is a music sheet stand where presumably there might have been music sheets or notes inside. If so, they are long gone. Regardless, it does not diminish the item one bit. This is, as most Signorini items seem to be, one of a kind. Probably made in the mid 1900s and according to the marks next to the .800 silver mark, made in either Florence or Firenze.
