I have tested it on older Canon 50mm f1.8 FL lenses with 48mm rim and it did fit, but lens cap was very tight. So I don't think it was made for that lens either. Maybe it was made for some Canon rangefinder lens. Cap is marked 50mm. That is the inner diameter. So it should fit lens with either 47-48mm rim. I would rate it at 8 out of 10.
