Item description

5 Golden Seal Roots - Hydrastis Canadensis - Perennial Herb You are purchasing 5 bare root Golden Seal plants. Also known as orange root or yellow puccoon, Golden Seal is a perennial herb native to southeastern Canada and the eastern U.S. It is recognizable by its thick, yellow, knotted root stalk. The plant features a purplish, hairy stem above ground and a yellow rhizome below. It has two palmate, hairy leaves with 5-7 double-toothed lobes and produces small, inconspicuous flowers with greenish-white stamens in late spring. In summer, it bears a single berry resembling a large raspberry, containing 10-30 seeds. Golden Seal is noted for its various herbal uses and thrives in full to partial shade in beds or wooded areas. It is hardy in zones 5-8. Planting instructions are included with each order. Note: We do not ship to Arizona.
