Item description

- You will get 300+ Seeds of Great Blue Lobelia Flower Seeds. - Seller Notes: ?lobelia siphilitica. U.S. Grown seed. Tested 1/23-Germination 93%. Packed 1/23.?. - Soil Type: Chalk, Clay, Loam, Peat, Sand. - Life Cycle: Perennial. - USDA Hardiness Zone (F): 5 (-20 to -10 F). - Soil pH: Neutral. - Watering: Medium. - Sunlight: Partial Shade, Full Sun, Medium Sun. - Great Blue Lobelia aka Blue Cardinal Flower. American native wildflower. Found in filtered sun areas. Woodlands, wetlands, and prairies over the eastern half of the United States. These will adapt to full sun if there enough water to keep the soil from drying out. Easy to grow from seed. Considered a short-lived perennial (3/4 years) that will reseed, but not evasive. These can be divided after year 2 and beyond. Also, propagated by cuttings(mid-summer). This is a clumping perennial that forms a mound of leaves with a spread of 1 1/2 ft that will throw up a 3-foot spike of intense blue flowers late summer through late fall. Pollinator magnet. Deer resistant. 300+ seeds per order. - Some American Native Wildflower seeds need to go through a cold winter to germinate. This plant is one of them. They do this so the seed won?t sprout in fall, only to have the seedling not make it through a cold winter. I have stratified these seeds to simulate a cold winter(stratification) This raises the germination rate considerably. Thanks for looking!!. - Lobelia syphilitic. - Perennial. - Part sun / Full sun. (Soil can't dry out). - Spring, soil temp 65F+. - SOW-3/4 seeds per, press into soil (need light to germ), about 18"apart. Keep moist. - Germination 10-21 Days. - Thin to single best seedling. Use scissors to cut out unwanted sprouts. - Medium water. Light fertilizer. - Flowers are blue. Blooms mid-summer through fall.
