ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT FOREST FIRES", with the face of Smokey Bear with his iconic Ranger's hat. The other side says: "U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE - FOREST SERVICE. AND YOUR STATE FORESTER" around the medal. The middle of the medal has Smokey Bear's Conservation Pledge: "I give my pledge as a citizen to faithfully protect my country's forests, waters and wildlife, and to do all in my power to prevent their waste and destruction from the ravages of forest fires." The medals are made of aluminum and although showing their age by some scruffs, scrapes and scratches, they have never been circulated, making them a great addition to any collection.
