Item description

- You will get 250 Seeds of Onion Red Burgundy Heirloom Vegetable Seeds. - Sunlight: Full Sun. - Life Cycle: Annual. - Watering: Medium. - Red Burgundy Onion Seeds. - The Red onion is classified as a spring/summer variety as it has a thin protective layer whereas storage onions have multiple protective layers which allows them greater time to be stored and less chance of bruising. Mature onions are ready for harvesting when their green tops wither, fall over and begin to turn brown. This occurs approximately six months after planting. - The Red onion is a bulb onion grown from seed or sets (small bulbs less than 1" in diameter). It has a burgundian-wine colored, paper sheath that protects its ruby and white ringed trademark course flesh. - Germination: Fill your container with damp potting soil, and mark furrows or divots for your seeds ? about 1/4 ? 1/2 inch deep. Sprinkle seeds along the furrow or place 1-4 seeds in each cell/divot. - Cover seeds with soil and gently tamp down. Cover starters with plastic cover or plastic bag to conserve moisture and place in a warm location at 70-75F to stimulate germination, such as near a wood stove or on the top of the refrigerator. Onions may take up to 3 weeks to sprout, so be patient.
