American Native wildflower. Hard to find growing wild. These used to be found in low lying prairies, meadows and woodlands throughout the U.S and Canada. Impervious to floods and drought. Tolerates just about any soil type. Very easy to grow from seed. These are fast growing and will get about 16" tall. Fern-like leaves. Each plant produces dozens of flowers. The red flowers are 2" across and start blooming in mid-summer and continue through fall. Good nectar source for butterflies and bees.
