Item description

Linden Cemetery Association Memorial Day 1983 Annual Meeting - May 30, 1983 Item has 10 signatures of the members of the board -- President, Secretary, and 8 directors. Plaque reads as follows: Whereas, David W. Lewis was one of the six directors who in 1932 began the rehabilitation of the Linden Cemetery, and Whereas, in 1933 he moved away from Linden, and thereafter reluctantly resigned as a Cemetery Director, and Whereas, after 50 years of absence, David has returned to Linden to renew old friendships and observe the condition of the Cemetery on this Memorial Day, and Whereas, by his attendance here today, the descendants, relatives, lot owners and friends here assembled can meet David and welcome him to this meeting, Now Therefore, Be It Resolved, That we express our gratitude to David W. Lewis for his efforts which materially contributed to the success of this cemetery, lo these many years ago. Plaque is written on a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 paper, which is yellow in color with some streaks of white. It is set in a plain wood frame and is covered in front by glass and cardboard on the backside. Very nice condition.
