1981 Vintage Photo Postcard Le Mont Saint Michael QSL Card F5SY Although the handwriting is very difficult to make out, it looks like the card is from "Madaline Coise" There is no postage stamp or postmark, or a DX date stamp, but she writes in her message 1981. The full color photograph is of Le Mont Saint-Michel, located in Lower Normandy. The Mont-Saint-Michel is an international place of pilgrimage as well as a major tourist centre. The different stages of its construction have created a unique architectural ensemble which was classified as a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1979. She writes, "I have been a ham since October 1694 with the call F5SY I am alone F5SY" Although the handwriting is difficult to decipher, it appears that between 1964 and 1981 he says, "my call is used several times by mistake hit(?) it is not very important but you friend WGLZV dont knew "original" F5SY" Not sure what she is talking about there, but it sounds like an interesting story with a lot more to it. The card is published by: ARTAUD Freres Editeurs, Imprinte' en Italie FYI Trivia: It is believed that Aubert, Bishop of d'Avranches, founded a sanctuary on Mont-Tombe, after 3 successive appearances by the Archangel Michael. Consecrated in 709, the church has attracted both the curious and pilgrim from all over the world ever since. It was also a prison, an Historical Monuments Department, a monastic community and now not surprisingly, a beautiful tourist attraction.
