Item description
This rare 1937 Crown Trifari A. Philippe Rhodium Plated Rhinestone Pendant 16? Choker is a stunning piece of vintage jewelry from the 1930s. This statement necklace features a rhodium plated metal and silver rhinestones, creating a elegant and timeless design perfect for women looking to make a stylish statement. The choker style adds a touch of sophistication, making it a classic and versatile accessory for any occasion. We are unsure if the choker is original to the pendant of was simply paired to it somewhere in the distant past.
We looked the pendant over carefully and only found one missing stone. That doesn?t mean there aren?t more but we used a jeweler?s loupe and that?s all we could find. Easily replaced - but not by us. You get it as we found it!
Alfred Philippe was a master craftsman for Cartier and Van Cleef Arpels before becoming head designer at Trifari.
He was the head designer at Trifari from 1930 to 1968.
He is known for his intricate designs and use of colorful crystals in his jewelry, especially fur clips and brooches.
His designs are highly sought after by collectors and are considered iconic examples of American costume jewelry.
On the back of the pendant is marked 107131 and Trifari logo with a crown over the ?T?. There are also two or three places where the number ?6? is stamped. Unsure of the significance but has to be something.
We are including the copy of the patent with date and diagram of pendant. Please note the pendant appears to hang upside down.
