Item description

Upper Silesia split into Germany and Poland as per the League of Nations 1922 following WW I . Dead country stamps The first plebiscite stamps were issued on 20 Feb, 1920, were of a simple numeral design, with the name the region inscribed in three languages: (Fr:Haute Silese, Ger:Ober Schlesien and Pol:Gorny Slask) . From Mar-May, 1920, the stamps were surcharged with new values in black or red. Each surcharge has multiple types and errors such as doubles and inverts abound. On 25 Mar, 1920, a set of 17 definitive stamps were issued depicting a dove with an olive branch flying over Silesia and ranged in denomination from 2oe pfennig to 5 marks. NG and some evidence of hinge use. No WM Stamp/s shown are the ones you will receive. I describe the condition only to the extent of my expertise which is limited. I am a neophyte amateur not a professional collector or dealer. Please examine the pictures for the most accurate condition of the product. Look at the pictures carefully as they provide the most accurate representation of the condition as part of the description. The images have been photo enlarged by the camera but have not been photo shopped. Coloration may be a bit different due to my camera characteristics.
