Item description

Phytolacca Americana We actually discussed Pokeweed and decided we did not want this plant on the farm. Well, it had plans of its own! We moved a huge pile of wood and cleared a large fire pit area during the winter of 2019-2020. Guess what decided to sprout up and spread out everywhere? Pokeweed. The leaves are sometimes boiled as a 'southern green'. But they are poisonous! If your grandma didn't show you how it's done - please don't experiment! The berries are also poisonous. We are sure to wear gloves whenever touching berries or processing the seeds. There is some research currently being done on the juice of the berry. We have read that the berry juice is being applied to solar panels to improve the efficiency. Again, please don't experiment with this!
