Item description

Vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the 1950's Quaker-themed drama/romance, FRIENDLY PERSUASION, released in 1956 by Allied Artists and directed by William Wyler. Based upon the book by Jessamyn West, the pacifist attitude of a Quaker family is tested as a result of the American Civil War. The image depicts Eliza Birdwell (Dorothy McGuire) in a cheerful moment with her son, Josh (Anthony Perkins), in the family kitchen. The border artwork features a large portrait of Gary Cooper as "Jess Birdwell." It is unrestored in near-fine condition with three light diagonal creases that are mostly unobtrusive; one set of staple holes in three of the corners; discoloration in the top left corner area and beneath Cooper's image; and random signs of light wear and discoloration in the border.
