Vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the classic 1930's production of the famous adventure drama, THE ADVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER, released in 1938 by United Artists and directed by Norman Taurog. Based upon the beloved classic by Mark Twain, Tom Sawyer (Tommy Kelly) and his pal, Huckleberry Finn (Jackie Moran), have great adventures on the Mississippi River, pretending to be pirates, attending their own funeral, and witnessing a murder. The cast includes May Robson, Walter Brennan, Victor Jory, David Holt, Nana Bryant, Olin Howard, Donald Meek, Charles Richman, Victor Killian, and Marcia Mae Jones. This lobby card (which is number 3 from the set of 8 cards as shown in the bottom right corner) was issued for the film's 1958 US theatrical re-release. The image features an interior scene inside of a cave as an exuberant Tom Sawyer (Tommy Kelly) reacts at finding a trove of golden coins. The border artwork features Tom and Huckleberry Finn fishing. It is unrestored in fine+ condition with signs of wear in the borders; one or two sets of staples holes either in the borders or inside the background or title areas. The rich color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading.
