Item description
Vintage 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy copy photograph (not a vintage original photo printed at the time it was taken) from the classic silent film drama/romance, THE SON OF THE SHEIK, released in 1926 by United Artists and directed by George Fitzmaurice. The son of the sheik (Rudolph Valentino) and a dancing girl (Vilma Banky) fall in love, but when he is made to believe she has betrayed him, he seeks his revenge.
The image features a beautiful interior full-length publicity shot of handsome Rudolph Valentino wearing one of the many elaborate Middle Eastern costumes for his role of Ahmed, as he stands confidently inside of his desert oasis. Printed most likely in the 1950's, this vintage copy photograph is in very fine condition with a light 2.25 in. horizontal crease beneath the top right border that goes into the background area; light signs of wear on the tips of the corners; and some discoloration in the bottom border. The image quality is very sharp with fine detail and great contrast.
