Item description

Vintage original 7.75 x 9.5 in. US single-weight glossy candid on-set photograph taken during the production of the 1940's Dutch East Indies adventure drama, VICTORY, released in 1940 by Paramount Pictures and directed by John Cromwell. Based upon the novel by Joseph Conrad, a hermit's idyllic life on an island is disturbed by the arrival of a bunch of cutthroats. The image features a candid on-set shot depicting co-stars Fredric March and Betty Field with various lighting equipment and an overhead boom microphone. As indicated by a rubber stamp on the verso, this photograph was taken by C. Kenneth Lobben and also features a printed descriptive caption. It is untrimmed in very fine- condition.
