Item description

Vintage original 8 x 10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the 1940s Film-Noir adventure comedy, TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT, released in 1941 by Warner Bros. and directed by Howard Hawks. Based upon the novel by Ernest Hemingway, during World War II, American expatriate Harry Morgan helps transport a French Resistance leader and his beautiful wife to Martinique while romancing a sensuous lounge singer. The image depicts Lauren Bacall with a cigarette dangling from her mouth as Ron Rendell goes to light it for her. This photograph was used for publication in a newspaper and has black ink embellishments around Bacall's image along with a circular swatch of ink. Affixed to the verso is the corresponding newspaper clipping of this actual photograph along with the original paper snipe. It is in fair condition only as shown.
