US double-weight matte on-set candid photograph taken during the filming of the 1960's western action comedy/romance, HELLER IN PINK TIGHTS, released in 1960 by Paramount Pictures and directed by George Cukor. Based upon the novel by Louis L'Amour, the story is about a theatrical troupe that travels through the Old West. The cast includes Sophia Loren, Anthony Quinn, Margaret O'Brien, Steve Forrest, Eileen Heckart, Ramon Novarro, and Edmund Lowe. The image features a candid on-set shot taken during films as director George Cukor has leading lady Sophia Loren (as Angela Rossini) hold a accordion-style group of folded pictures of women in vintage period attire from the same era as this story was set in as he apparently tries to replicate one of the women's poses for Miss Loren to emulate. This double-weight matte photo was trimmed to approximately 7.25 x 9.5 in. and is in fine+ condition with a 0.75 in. horizontal crease near the bottom of the left edge and a 0.5 in. vertical crease on the bottom edge near the right corner.
