Item description
ANTONY by the Earl of Lytton
Charles Scribner's Sons, 1936
First U.S. Edition
Condition: Very Good
This memoir of Antony, Viscount Knebworth, was written by his father, the second Earl of Lytton and a grandson of writer Edward Bulwer-Lytton. Antony had a happy, busy life, but died just short of his 30th birthday. Though they were a close family, he spent several years separated from this parents, and the book includes many of his splendid letters to them. There are 16 photo plates. This copy lacks the dust jacket. There is only light external wear; a number of pages have moisture waving and some are slightly bumped on the bottom edge. There is page browning on the inner margins. Still, a handsome copy and rather uncommon in the U.S. first.
