This stunning plant comes from the mountain slopes of Mexico. Also known as tiger flowers. It blooms with large brightly coloured flowers, all with a distinct eye in the centre of the blossom. They are very decorative, bearing several flowers per stem and flower repeatedly throughout summer. The foliage of Tigridia is similar to Gladiolus.
Plant Instructions:
Tigridia pavonia mix needs to be planted quite deep according to the instruction on the package in well-drained soil, you can improve poor drained soil by mixing in coarse builders sand or grit. Choose a sunny sheltered location.
Water well after planting and then only if the ground dries out. Tigridia pavonia mix is hardy but dislikes excessive rain and frost, for best results lift the corms in autumn after the foliage has died back and store in a cool dry place for winter.
Replant in spring.
