Item description
WAITING FOR DAYLIGHT by H. M. Tomlinson
Alfred A. Knopf, New York, First (Limited) Edition, May 1922
Condition: Very Good+
Henry Major Tomlinson (1873-1958) was a British writer and journalist. One of his earliest books, this collection of essays and sketches (written between 1915 and 1921) reflect his anti-war sentiments and writings on travel, as well as his love of the sea. This is copy #1523 of 2,000 copies that were sold. It has a short tear and some creasing at the spine foot, minor wear at the spine head, a bent cover corner and slight rubbing on the back cover. The side and bottom page edges were left roughly cut by the printer; a number of pages are still uncut at the top or bottom, indicating the book may be mostly unread. (There is modest evidence that a very few pages may have been manually separated.) No dust jacket. Generally, though, the book is in very nice condition: unmarked (except for the copy number) and tightly bound. Pages are age toned. Uncommon in today's market.
