Trivet Hot Plate CALIFORNIA Vintage Hand and 43 similar items

Set of TWO (2)Vintage Hand Made Abalone Shell Trivet Hot Plate, and Table or Wall Decor, Centerpiece I don't recall how old these are, but I know I used the round trivet for a short time in a house we lived in in West Covina in the late 1960's. When we moved, these were packed into a box where they have been these many years. I don't know if it is plastic or resin. The surface is glass like smooth and shiny. The back side of the large round trivet has three rounded knub feet embedded into the black matte material that makes up the backing for the Abalone Shells. The smaller table/wall decor piece is shaped like the State of California, the back side is flat, (no hanging hook or hole for hanging). We tried scanning and taking photos to show the beautiful iridescent blue and silver hues of the shells.
