Item description
Nippon Japan Vintage Hand Painted Flowered Floral 6" Saucer
Shows some age, refer to photos.
The image shows a Nippon porcelain plate with a floral design. These plates were made in Japan and marked "Nippon" between 1891 and 1921 to comply with the McKinley Tariff Act. The McKinley Tariff Act required all imported goods to be marked with their country of origin. After 1921, the plates were marked "Japan". The "Nippon" mark is often sought after by collectors, and the plates are more highly valued than those marked "Japan". The plate in the image appears to be hand-painted, which was a common practice for Nippon porcelain.
