Vintage, Limited Edition new in box 2002 Budweiser Man's Best Friend series - Beagle Stein. Anheuser-Busch is proud to present this fifth and final edition in our salute to man's best friend this time honoring the Beagle. Each stein in this series highlights a different breed with outstanding illustrations by artist Susan Ryan. Brilliantly reproduced in ceramic relief, this exceptional stein is worthy of the ever-popular Beagle. One of the oldest members of the hound group-so old, in fact, that its ancestry is lost in time-Beagles were originally bred to track and hunt small game, like rabbits. In fact, their keen sense of smell and tenacious spirit often lead to mischief, both in backyards across America (which they frequently escape), as well as in world-famous comic strips! The Beagle's not-too-big, not-too-small size (anywhere from 10 to 15" tall, and about 15 lbs. to 25 lbs.) also make it an ideal member of the houseflold. And with the breed's soft, brown eyes...long, droopy ears...slightly furrowed brow...yet extremely intelligent disposition, it's no wonder that the modern Beagle has been so well-loved in the U.S. for more than 125 years. At the center of this stein is a full color portrait of a Beagle. Surrounding this illustration is a detailed design showcasing a number of popular breeds the Rottweiler, Black Labrador Retriever, Beagle, German Shepherd and Siberian Husky, all set against a charming wood fence. Bright red collars frame this artwork, with pewter studs decorating both the collars and the handle. A second full color Beagle illustration decorates the ceramic inlay in the pewter lid. And the thumbrest is in the shape of a dog bone. This 8" tall stein conveys all the loyalty, faithfulness and respect that dog lovers everywhere experience when they gaze at their own canine friend.
