Item description
? How to Grow Godzilla Sunflower Seeds (Giant Sunflowers)
? What You Need:
Godzilla sunflower seeds (or any giant sunflower variety)
Large containers (if not planting directly in-ground)
Rich, well-draining soil
Full sun exposure (6–8+ hours daily)
Watering can or hose
Optional: fertilizer (high in phosphorus for flowers)
? Step-by-Step Planting Guide
1. When to Plant
Plant in spring, after the last frost. Soil should be at least 50–60F (10–16C).
2. Location
Choose a spot with full sun — the more sunlight, the better.
If growing in pots, make sure the container is deep (at least 12–18 inches), since these giants have long roots.
3. Soil Prep
Use loamy, well-draining soil with lots of compost or organic matter.
Optional: mix in a slow-release fertilizer before planting.
4. Planting the Seeds
Sow seeds directly into the soil, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) deep.
Space seeds 18–24 inches (45–60 cm) apart if you want the plants to reach full size.
Water gently but thoroughly.
? Care Growth
Watering:
Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during germination.
Once established, water deeply 2–3 times a week, more during dry spells.
Support:
These can grow 8–12+ feet tall, so they might need staking or a trellis if it's windy.
Feeding:
Once plants are 1–2 feet tall, you can fertilize every few weeks with a balanced or bloom-boosting fertilizer.
Avoid too much nitrogen — it’ll give you tall plants with small flowers.
? Timeline
Stage Time
Germination 7–10 days
Seedling to Tall Plant 1–2 months
Blooming 75–100 days after sowing
? When They Bloom
Expect massive flower heads that can be over 12 inches (30 cm) across — perfect for photo ops, attracting pollinators, or harvesting seeds later.
? Harvesting Seeds (Optional)
Let the flower heads fully mature and droop.
When the back of the flower head turns brown, cut it and let it dry.
Rub seeds off by hand or with a brush, and store in a cool, dry place.
