Solid Brass guard and rivets. Heavy genuine leather sheath and "piggyback" hone stone. Beginning in 1973 the 171UH is shown with the flat pommel cap. There were 2 production runs that can be seen in the catalogs: 1971-1983 (the first two years having the birds head pommel) 1990-1991 All of these are shown in the catalogs with the flat pommel cap.
