Item description
This is a silver plate Flat Handle Master Butter Knife and a Cocktail Fork in the Festivity/Tiger Lily pattern by Reed Barton. Originally, in about 1902, the pattern was called Tiger Lily. After about 1945 it was called Festivity. The Master Butter Knife is approximately 7" long and the Cocktail Fork is approximately 5 5/8" long. Festivity/Tiger Lily was inspired by designs in the Louis XV style with elegant Baroque or Rococo styling. If you look closely, you can see the lovely tiger lilies even on the underside. There is decoration on the front and back. There is NO monogram on any piece. The flat handle master butter knife and the cocktail fork have "Reed Barton" on the underside. My parents purchased these from Slavick's in Los Angeles in about 1950. I am including a large serving spoon at no extra charge. I recently found it. It has scuff marks and scratches on the bowl. It was part of the set and is still quite usable. I gave the pieces a hand polish. They have use marks consistent with their age and usage. I am downsizing and have not used this lovely flatware in decades. Rather than staying in a box, I hope someone will actually use it. Non-smoking household.
