The item is made of yellow brass metal (see photos). The item is hand made with a pieced decoration (see photos). The item is not marked by a maker. The item looks to be from India. The item is from an estate liquidation. The item has an attached hinged lid with a hasp so you could use a lock on it. I think the box may be for holding potpourri or incense. The box has a handle for carrying it. The box measures in total about 6.5 inches high, it measures about 8.5 inches from the front side to the back side, and it is about 10 inches wide from side to side.
