Original 1943 WW2 Patriotic Art Poster "Join The USA Crop Corps "
Work On A Farm Recruitment campaign, a visual play on Grant Wood?s famous painting, AMERICAN GOTHIC.

Colors are bright and clear; poster paper is crisp and clean, no musty scent.
Illustrated by James Montgomery Flagg for the USA Govt Printing Office:
Flagg was an American artist, comics
artist, and illustrator. He worked in media ranging from fine art
painting to cartooning, but is best remembered for his political
posters, particularly his 1917 poster of Uncle Sam Wants You created for United
States Army recruitment during World War I.
This vintage recruitment poster from 1943 features the farmer
with a pitch form standing by his wife. She holds a basket with
veggies from their farm garden. This is similar to the World War 1
poster for Plant a Victory Garden to make sure you had sufficient food
for the winter time.

To help ease the farm labor shortage during World War II
What it did:
Enlisted city-dwelling women and teenagers to help out in the fields
What it said: "Work on a Farm This Summer Join the U.S. Crop Corps"
Who it was created for:
Citizens who wanted to help ease the farm labor shortage
