THE GIRL WITH SIX FINGERS
By Hugh Pentecost, pseudonym of Judson Pentecost Philips.
New York: Dodd, Mead Company, (1969).
First edition, first printing.
A selection in the publisher's superior Red Badge Detective mystery series.
The fifth of seven mysteries featuring the adventurer, sleuth, and champion of lost causes, John Jericho, involves a missing girl who was last seen dancing naked, except for being covered in an assortment of colored paint, at an event with "psychedelic lights and drums".
Upper corner tips and upper front cover slightly bumped, a touch of rubbing to the upper and lower spine edges, else very good plus, very tight, in polished red linen boards with black embossed Red Badge Detective insignia to the front cover and with black embossed titles and insignia to the spine, sewn binding; in a slightly rubbed, near fine dust jacket with 60s art by Tim Gaydos, with a short tear to the upper front shelf-edge, rubs and a tiny chip to the upper spine edge; original printed $3.95 price still intact to the front inner flap.
The jacket will be placed in a quality Brodart brand, clear, removable protective sleeve, after photographing for this entry.
