Item description
A STRANGER IN MY GRAVE
By Margaret [Ellis] Millar.
New York: Random House, (1960).
First edition, first printing.
"First printing" statement to the copyright page, and $3.50 to the jacket's flap.
The LA Times 1965 Woman Of The Year, and Edgar and MWA Grand Master Award winning mystery author and screenwriter was a pioneer in her writing of mature, well-developed women characters with rich psychological detail.
In this mystery, set in Los Angeles and Southern California, Daisy Harker has threateningly realistic dreams of her own death and gravesite--and becomes involved with detective Steve Pinata, a dubious Stanley Field, and the underworld world of crime.
Barely perceptibly bumped to the lower shelf-edge else very nearly fine, tight, and square in black linen with silver and gilt embossed titles to the spine, upper page edges mauve-pink; in a very good lightly rubbed and mildly crimped dust jacket with gravestone art by Bob Cox, with creases and nicks to the lower spine end, a half-inch chip and creases to the upper spine end, a half-inch chip to the upper front corner; original printed $3.50 price and 10/60 date code still intact to the front inner flap.
The dust jacket will be placed in a clear protective, removable sleeve after photographing for this entry.
