Item description
Japanese Aralias make for lovely indoor plants as the glossy, shiny, paper-thin leaves are very exotic and attractive looking. These broad-leaf evergreens add a sense of ease to any environment. Also, Fatsia Japonica, Japanese Aralias can lend their ambiance to the outdoors in a shaded area like a corner or a walking path. If grown outside of a pot, these perennials can grow into the size of their space. Outdoors, they typically grow shrub-sized when grown next to other plants; all the way up to to the size of a small tree if given the space.
Fatsia japonica produces white flowers in the beginning of fall that turn into black fruits by winter. The fruits house the seeds of the plant. If you wish to save the seeds you'll want to wait until the fruits are ripe. Next, remove the seeds from the fruit pulp to sow. Aralias can withstand a bit of cold. However, if you know when freezing temperatures are coming, be sure to cover the plant for the duration of the frost.
