The construction of this huge temple to the god "Horus" began during the reign of "Ptolemy III Euergetes I" (the word "Eurgetes" means "benefactor") in the year 145 BC, and it took about 200 years to build this temple. It was completed during the reign of Ptolemy XIII in the first century BC.
Horus was mentioned in one of the legends in ancient Egypt and was considered a symbol of goodness and justice.
