4 Vintage STANGL Country Garden Cup and Saucer Sets Hand-Painted Floral. This is an 8 piece STANGL Pottery set of hand painted, artist signed, cups (4) and saucers (4), in the Country Garden pattern (Pretty pink flowers on one side of each cup and blue on the other.), circa 1954-1978. They are in very good to excellent, pre owned condition. There are no utensil scratches, chips, cracks or repairs. They look as though they have seen very little use. One cup has a small spot of light staining and two cups have a little crazing on their handles. Stangl pottery was hand loaded into the kiln and placed on kiln pins. The marks from the pins are visible on the bottom of each piece. Please view the photos for more details on their condition. A hallmark of Stangl design was that the pattern was scratched in (sgrafitto) and then hand painted. Due to the handworked nature of the pottery, no two pieces are exactly the same. Each piece of Stangl pottery is hand signed by the artist on the base of the piece. The bowl of the cups measure 2 3/4"H x 3 3/4"W. The saucers measure 6 1/4"W.
