Offered is a handcrafted, Santa Rosa pottery, folk art pitcher/vase made in Mexico. It has a deep yellow colored ground and is hand-painted with large fruits of the region in tones of orange, green and yellow. This piece is in excellent pre owned condition; no chips, cracks or repairs noted. Please see all photos for more detail on condition. Signed by hand on base. Mayolica Santa Rosa uses the traditional Mayolica technique to produce ceramics through craftsman's hands, turning clay on the potters wheel into unique hand decorated pieces of pottery. The small irregularities in the clay, paint, glaze are common to handcrafted pottery of this type, and add to its hand-worked character.
