HILLS RUN RED aka River of Dollars: Violent, dubbed spaghetti western set in the post-Civil War years has best friends Jerry and Ken trying to get back to Texas with a stolen army payroll. Jerry gets caught and lands in prison while Ken uses the money to become a power in their town at the expense of Jerry's family. When Jerry is finally released, all he wants is revenge. APACHE: Burt Lancaster is the only Indian in Geronimo's outfit who refuses to surrender in this chronicle of a bitter battle between the Indians and the U.S. calvary in the struggle for the West. When he is captured and taken away from his homeland, Massai (Lancaster) makes a daring escape and makes the journey home, with his former captors in hot pursuit. First western and color film for director Robert Aldrich is a thoughtful piece for its time that had the original tragic ending reshot (against Aldrich's wishes) to make it more happy.
